MD/PhD programme

 

The MD/PhD programme offers students the opportunity to combine their Master phase with a Ph.D.-training to obtain a (D.)M.D. and Ph.D. degree upon completion. In this programme students spend an additional two years (financed) on scientific research next to the regular medical or dental education. Students obtain their Ph.D. in two years instead of the regular four years of Ph.D.-research. The programme features an enormous flexibility and gives students the possibility to advance specifically in their field of interest.

The last ten years (2001-2010) 184 students have been (conditionally) awarded a MD/PhD project. Until now, 52 students successfully mastered the MD/PhD programme of which 32 students within the timeframe of 2+2 years*. Succesful students receive the official 'Hauw The-penning'.
