Gina Potarca, Fernando Nieto Morales and Lieuwe Zijlstra in Groningen Talent Group

From over 50.000 students between 20 and 30 years old, the University of Groningen, the Hanze University Groningen, the University Medical Center and the municipality choose the hundred most talented persons for the city. Together, they form the Groningen Talent Group. Three of these most talented are Gina Potarca and Fernando Nieto Morales, two Sociology / ICS PhD's from year group 2010 and Lieuwe Zijlstra, Research Master.

The Groningen Talent Group aims to expand the network with other talents as well as ‘established talent’: well-known and innovative employers from the city and province of Groningen. Active members will also be invited to the Very Talented Person arrangements at major events in the city, such as the Arts & Sciences Night and the Eurosonic Noorderslag Festival. In return, the talents are asked now and then to help the city of Groningen by thinking about various city-related topics. Examples of these topics are student housing and accomodations, stimulating entrepreneurship and citymarketing. In addition, they sometimes act as ambassador for Groningen, City of Talent.
