The Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences (Dutch: Faculteit Gedrags- en Maatschappijwetenschappen) has four training courses.  Of old, there were training courses in Psychology, Educational Sciences and Sociology. The training course Movement Sciences is taught within the discipline of Educational Sciences, in collaboration with the UMCG. In September 2003, Movement Sciences became the fifth training course of the faculty.

The training courses have gradually changed into the Bachelor-Master structure. The Bachelor courses, mostly focusing on one discipline with various course directions within the training, started per 1 September 2002. These courses result in the title Bachelor of Science (BSc). The master courses, also focusing on one discipline, started per 1 September 2003 and result in the title Master of Science (MSc). Furthermore, a Research Master course will start, called a Master of Honours within the faculty, that educates students in performing research. Next to the Master courses that focus on one discipline, other Master courses are being developed that focus on more specific occupational fields.
