Magda Isac received two AERA awards

The prestigious American Educational Research Association has awarded Ph.D candidate Maria Magdalena Isac the Best Postgraduate Paper Award and the International Travel Award.

Title of her paper is “The Contribution of Schooling to Secondary School Students' Citizenship Outcomes Across Countries” and is co-authored with Dr. Ralf Maslowski and Professor Greetje van der Werf, GION Institute for Educational Research.

Citizenship

The paper is a comparative study across 35 countries which investigates the impact of citizenship education organized by educational systems and schools on students’ cognitive and non-cognitive citizenship outcomes such as citizenship knowledge, attitudes towards democracy and intended future participation in legal protest.
