Ancient World Seminar

interdisciplinair en interfacultair discussieforum
The Ancient World Seminar offers an opportunity for students and staff from all Groningen faculties and departments with an interest in the Ancient World to meet and discuss their research. In support of the CRASIS mission, it aims to advance the interdisciplinary studies in the Culture, Religion and Society of the Graeco-Roman world. Since 2004, the Ancient World Seminar has successfully brought together staff and students from the departments of Ancient History, Greek and Latin, Archaeology, Ancient Philosophy, Jewish Studies and Early Christianity. The Ancient World Seminar gathers monthly during term time and invites beginning and advanced scholars from the University of Groningen and from other universities in the Netherlands or abroad. Papers are given on a broad variety of subjects and from a wide range of perspectives. In this way, the Ancient World Seminar crosses institutional boundaries and facilitates the study of Graeco-Roman Antiquity in its widest sense.
