The Faculty of Philosophy has no specific, formalized structure for women's studies research or education. Two staff-members, however, have a long-standing research interest and output in the field of genderstudies, or feminist philosophy: Judith Vega and Baukje Prins. For information on their activities, see under 'Research', or click in the menu to enter their web-pages.
In 2003, the Faculty of Philosophy invited and hosted prof. Nancy Fraser (New School for Social Research, New York), as the second Jantina Tammes professor for Genderstudies at the RUG. Her appointment was the occasion for, a.o., a conference on 'Social Justice in a Global World', a master course, and a PhD seminar.
