The Honourable Sir Richard Plender is currently a Justice of the High Court of England and Wales, to which he was appointed in 2007. From 1988 until his appointment to the High Court he was Queen's Counsel in London, with a practice in public international law and European Community law. Among his many publications are the following books:

He is also author of articles in legal periodicals in English and French. While in Groningen he will be writing a new edition of his book International Migration Law and engaging in editorial work on a new edition of his book European Courts Practice and will be organizing a conference to be held in Groningen on issues of international migration law. 

He will also make himself available for advice and assistance to graduate students.
