Prof.Suzanne Comtois

Suzanne Comtois is professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Sherbrooke (Québec, Canada) since 1983. She served as vice-dean in 1986-1990, 2004-2005 and 2008-2009. Her teaching interests are administrative law (judicial review and administrative tribunals), environmental law and labour law. She has published several articles in Canadian and foreign law reviews and one book entitled: Vers la primauté de l’approche pragmatique et fonctionnelle, Précis du contrôle judiciaire des décisions de fond des organismes administratifs, Éditions Yvon Blais, 2003. Her current research interests include the relationship between courts and administrative tribunals, agencies and other administrative decision makers.

Professor Comtois is a ssociate member of the International Academy of Comparative Law and member of the Quebec Bar Association. She was president of the Canadian Association of Law Teachers (1992-1993) and research coordinator at the Law Reform Commission of Canada , section administrative law and environmental law (1991-1992). She will be doing research on comparative aspects of administration of justice in public law in cooperation with the members of the Department of public law of Groningen University.
