Geographers and planners – also known as ‘spatial scientists’ – are interested in land use in its broadest sense. To be more precise, they study the spatial organization and design of a society. Spatial scientists study the concentration and distribution of populations and related activities such as growth and changes in cities, urban-rural relationships, migration, mobility, the labour market, infrastructure, traffic and transportation, and development issues at all spatial levels, that is, from the neighbourhood to the global level.
The Bachelor’s degree in Human Geography and Spatial Planning is a three-year programme taught in Dutch.
