ExpertiseEnvironmental studies, sustainable production and energy Curriculum VitaeTon Schoot Uiterkamp completed his degree in Physical Chemistry in 1969, and gained his PhD in biophysical chemistry four years later on research into snail blood. He then spent two years working for UNESCO in Egypt, four years at Yale University and four years at Harvard. In 1982, Schoot Uiterkamp joined TNO in Delft, first as an executive staff member and later as Head of the Biology department. He has been Professor of Environmental Studies at the University of Groningen since 1991. In 1998 Schoot Uiterkamp published Green Households, a study of the energy use of Dutch households over the past fifty years.
