Michel ter Hark will be Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the VU University in Amsterdam as from 1 January 2012. He has been our Dean and Professor of the History of Philosophy since 2000.
Under his direction, the Faculty has flourished and grown, which shows in the many research fundings raised (VENI, VIDI, VICI, ERC etc) and our excellent position at research and education quality assessments. Only recently, we scored a double number one position at Elsevier Magazine's Beste Studies (Faculty Rankings) special.
The Faculty is very appreciative of his work: it has meant a great deal to us. We wish him all the best in his new job.
