Highly talented students and companies from the flourishing energy sector in the North of the Netherlands can meet each other on 23 November in the Martiniplaza in Groningen. The ‘Energy Internship and Career Plaza (EICP)’ is an annual special careers fair around the theme of energy, for the third time in a row organized by the University of Groningen in cooperation with various partners. AKZO Nobel, Cofely Noord and Gasunie are among the companies attending.
The EICP forms part of the 7th Energy Delta Convention, the annual international conference in Groningen for senior professionals from the energy sector. Energy will also be the central theme at the careers fair as the EICP concentrates expressly on university and university of applied science students in all degree programmes. The EICP is supported by the Energy Valley foundation, the NOM and VNO-NCW Noord, which take this opportunity to emphasize again the importance of talent for the northern energy sector.
Presentations and workshops
The day will be opened by Cor Zijderveld, chair of the Samenwerkende Bedrijven Eemsdelta SBE, Taskforce Technologie Onderwijs Arbeidsmarkt TOA, and former director of Chemie Park Delfzijl and AKZO Nobel Delfzijl. There will then be a networking workshop given by Danny Mekić, one of the youngest and most successful entrepreneurs in the Netherlands.
Other workshops include an excursion arranged by KEMA to a nearby company in the energy sector, a workshop in Mandarin Chinese, and internship tips from the Placement Office of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen.
Participants and partners of EICP include AKZO Nobel, Xelvin, KEMA, CB&I, Cofely Noord, Gasunie, Imtech and many others. Societies such as AIESEC, Unipartners, China Europe Growth Foundation and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) will also be participating.
