New blog entry by dr. Jennifer Jordan: The Value of the Academic Conference
‘People who perceive a lack of personal control over their lives are more likely to engage in unethical behaviors, like stealing or buying stolen merchandise’, FEB’s dr. Jennifer Jordan and colleague Bob Fennis discovered. This is especially true if there are signals that other consumers are also engaging in these behaviors. This is an interesting conclusion for marketing research and Jordan wants to share it with other scientists. In her series on ‘the ivory tower’ Jordan addresses the question why academics fly around the word to visit conferences if they can also read the scientific discoveries in journals!
