"Although there’s lively discussion between supporters and critics on the topic of microcredit, they all seem to agree that the new microfinance products – micro savings and micro insurance – may well be the solution to poverty alleviation. I can understand the increasing popularity of savings and insurance, but in my opinion it is just another clear example of herding behaviour, partly irrational and driven by emotion and not based on solid research. "
