New FEB Board as of 1 November: Prof. Janka Stoker to be appointed Vice Dean

On 1 November the Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business will welcome Prof. Janka Stoker as its new Vice Dean and Education Officer. The Faculty Board will then be reduced from four to three members.

The members of the FEB Faculty Council agreed and in fact responded enthusiastically to the new Board composition announced to them on 11 September.

Composition of the Faculty Board
Dean Prof. Elmer Sterken and Treasurer Teun van Duinen will remain in office. Van Duinen’s appointment was extended by another five years on 1 September, whereas Sterken’s five-year appointment will end in 2013. Prof. Stoker has also been appointed for a period of five years, starting on 1 November.
The three-strong Faculty Board will focus particularly on strategy building.

In addition to the Faculty Board, Dr Kees Praagman will be appointed Director of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies and Frans Rutten will be appointed Associate Dean for International Affairs. An Academic Dean will be appointed in due course for the future International Business School. Kees Praagman will focus in particular on teaching allocation, teaching and examination regulations and the implementation of educational innovations. Frans Rutten will be responsible for internationalization and international accreditations. Tammo Bijmolt’s duties as director of SOM will remain unchanged.

Janka Stoker
Professor Stoker is currently professor by special appointment in Leadership and Organizational Change at FEB, a chair that is partly sponsored by her current second employer Berenschot. As of November 2009 she will be employed full-time by FEB and her chair by special appointment will be converted into a regular professorship.
