Application documents

To be able to process your application for admission to one of our degree programmes, we need you to use our online application system, so that you can upload digital copies of the necessary documents. Alternatively, they can be sent to the Admissions Office by regular or courier mail (please do not use the P.O.Box address). We need to receive most of these documents together with your application to be able to start processing your application.
Some documents may be sent later but need to be received before you can be officially admitted.

To be officially and unconditionally admitted, you will have to provide us with the original diploma and transcripts, or with certified copies.

A copy is considered to be officially certified if one of the following authorities confirms the correspondence of the photocopy to the original: the Admissions Office of the University of Groningen (bring the original documents as well as the copies); your home university/school; an official authority responsible for certifications (e.g. the Dutch Embassy or Consulate in your country of domicile) or a public notary office (bring the original documents); authorities in the home state of the applicant that have the right to provide documents with the so-called “Apostille of The Hague” (under the terms of the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents, 5 October 1961).

Information about required registration (university and city Hall) or visa documents can be found under: Settling in Groningen .
