Introduction Events


A good start is essential for study success and enjoying your time in Groningen. In order to make the most out of your stay in Groningen, it is necessary to get induced to your new (academic) environment. When booking your plane ticket and/or acccomodation, make sure to arrive in Groningen in time!

 Special note: in case you arrive on 28 August in Groningen: 28 August is a public holiday in the city of Groningen - to celebrate the liberation of the city - and the University (and many other  offices) are closed on that day!

Welcoming ceremony: 29 + 30 August

Welcoming Ceremony

Attending this programme on 29 August will help you arranging a lot of practical and legal matters in one day. The programme includes a university fair featuring information on social, cultural, language, sports, housing office, computer and other facilities. Participants will be: Rabobank, City Hall, AON health insurance, Immigration Authorities and many more.

Mandatory sessions concerning the residence permit will be held for non-EU students on 30 August

Faculty introduction: 31 August

During the faculty kick-off on Friday 301 August you will receive information about the faculty, credit and enrolment procedures and sources of useful information and locations. You will also be given your student card en log-in details for the university network. Furthermore, you will do a campus tour, enjoy a nice lunch, and - of course, meet other exchange students. In the later afternoon, we will have dinner together. 

 

>> Both events are compulsory and we sincerely hope you will make every effort possible to attend.

>> Students who are genuinely delayed by illness, accident, travel difficulties, bureaucratic errors or any other problems should always inform the Exchange Office well in advance!
