Research
Research of the Department of Marketing is conducted within the research school SOM, and many of its researchers are (associate) fellow of SOM. Research projects often deal with rich empirical data, combined with a strong theoretical foundation and sophisticated methodology. The aim is to study real-world marketing problems in a rigorous scientific manner. The list of topics addressed include: promotions, customer relationship management, retailing, and pharmaceutical marketing. Members of the department frequently publish in international top marketing journals. The research of the marketing group has received the highest possible score (a five on all dimensions) in the most recent accreditation. Education
Extensive knowledge of marketing theory and research methodology is critical for a successful approach of many marketing problems. In addition, practical skills and experience is of key importance. Therefore, our educational programs combine all these aspects.
In the
Bachelors of the Faculty of Economics we lecture courses on issues like: marketing mix decisions, consumer behavior, strategic marketing planning, and market research. With respect to the Master level, an excellent option is to take one of the two Marketing programs within the
Master of Science in Business Administration (MScBa): Marketing Management and Marketing Research. In addition, the Department of Marketing is strongly involved in the Marketing profile of the Research Master offered by SOM and the executive MBA programs in Marketing offered by the Academie voor Management.
