Technology and Operations Management final colloquium

The Msc Thesis project always includes a public final colloquium. Students must complete their final-year project by holding a presentation about the research conducted, the results and their recommendations. Both supervisors must attend the colloquium. The first supervisor (or graduation committee) is responsible for the procedure during the colloquium. Attendance of the colloquium is open, MSc TM students also have to attend at least five colloquia of other students as part of their program.

Students must agree on the date for the colloquium in consultation with both supervisors well in advance. On this date, they must reserve a 2.5-hour timeslot in their diaries: one hour for the colloquium (preferably a full clock hour for room-reservation purposes), directly followed by 1.5 hours for the oral examination. The programme management prefers having colloquia on Tuesday afternoons.

The colloquium officially takes 45 minutes (30 minutes presentation, 15 minutes discussion). The first 15 minutes are intended for personal and technical preparation (connecting a beamer and laptop, if necessary). Students are themselves responsible for the equipment they want to use. Equipment can be reserved at the Duisenberg Building reception desk, tel. 363.46.24 (be in time so you can be sure it is there for you).

Students must inform Nicole van de Beek-Heidekamp, from the TM secretariat, of the planned date and time three weeks in advance. This can be done by telephone (363.39.21), by e-mail (n.van.de.beek@rug.nl) or in person ( Duisenberg Building, room 617; From 9.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday). Nicole will then book a room and take care of publication on the website.

Colloquium announcements are published on the website, in the MSc TM NESTOR community (under events) and on the door of room 617.

Please note that the website is always the most up-to-date.
