Board of Examiners


The Board of Examiners of the Faculty of Economics and Business is responsible for the organization and coordination of the exams in the degree programmes. The board consists of several members of the educational staff.

The Board of Examiners deals with various requests, including:

  • requests for extracurricular exams;
  • requests for permission to write your thesis in Dutch within an English degree programme;
  • requests for permission for permanent confidentiality of your thesis;
  • requests for admission to courses and exams that which you are not (yet) entitled to take.

The Board of Examiners does not answer general questions about your courses, grades, exams, etc. You can ask these questions at the Student Support Desk. In case your request is connected special personal circumstances, such as an illness or a death, you may be asked to provide written proof. This is usually done in consultation with a study advisor.

The Board of Examiners is bound by the Teaching and Examination Regulations (OER) and Rules and Guidelines (RR). Before you make your request to the Board of Examiners, please first read what the OER and RR say about the subject.

What should I attach?

In your correspondence with the Board of Examiners, always state your name, address, student number and degree programme. Some requests must be supported with attachments. Please consult this table to find out. Without the necessary attachtment, your request will not be dealt with.

Extracurricular exam

Only when it is the last exam of your degree programme and, in principle, when there is no scheduled exam in one of the two upcoming exam periods.

Copy of approval degree programme (not necessary if you applied for your approval in ProgressWWW)

Advice of study advisor

Exemption from the regulations concerning post-registration for exams

Only in case of force majeure or special personal circumstances

 

Dutch thesis within an English degree programme

Only possible when you do an internship

Approval of the thesis supervisor

Permanent confidentiality of the thesis

Request must be well-motivated and made at the start of the graduation project

Approval of the thesis supervisor (not the internship supervisor)

Admission to second-year courses and exams for students with 30-45 EC

 

Overview of the academic year with a course plan

Admission to second-year courses and exams for third-year students without a propaedeutic degree certificate

Only applicable to students who started their studies before the academic year 2010-2011

 

Admission to the thesis without having met the entrance requirements
