The Groningen Economics and Business Alumni Foundation

The Groningen Economics and Business Alumni Foundation (AEB), of which every graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Business can be a donor, was established in January 2008. The AEB facilitates the alumni network and organizes content-related activities, such as lectures, company excursions, and Master Classes.　

Objective of the Foundation

Since the formation of the Faculty of Economics and Business, the existing alumni societies of Economics (VERAF), study association EBF, and the Faculty had started working together increasingly closely. This resulted in the establishment of the Groningen Economics and Business Alumni Foundation. The aim of the new foundation is to promote contact between alumni, and between alumni and the Faculty. It is important to keep alumni involved with the Faculty because they can provide feedback on the Faculty’s core business: education and how it dovetails with the business world.

 

Alumni can speak from experience on the link between their university education and the professional field through, for example, guest lectures. In addition, the Faculty’s Career Office can help alumni with their internships and final-year projects. The Faculty also wants to be a serious partner in investigating contracts via the new Centres of Expertise.　

Board

The AEB board comprises members of VERAF, board members of the Faculty and the EBF Faculty society, and alumni. Current members of the board are:

Joining the AEB Foundation

Everyone who obtains their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the FEB automatically becomes a member of the AEB Foundation, and is automatically signed up for the electronic newsletter. If you graduated in 2010 and have not yet received a newsletter, you have not been registered automatically. In that case, you can apply for membership by sending an e-mail to the alumni officer, stating your current address, degree program, and graduation year.

Should you wish, you may also become a Foundation donor. Doing so, you will receive extras as well as plenty of opportunity to expand your network. Current VERAF members enjoy the same advantages as donors of the new alumni foundation. In addition, students graduating from the Faculty from now on can be a year-long donor for free.
