During office hours, the University of Groningen applies a system of regulated parking at the Zernike complex. Parking on one of the parking lots, closed off with barriers, is permitted to a limited number of employees only. Facility Services Zernike West is responsible for the implementation of the policy by issueing parking permits and giving information.

Guests
When you expect guests from outside the University of Groningen, it is advisable to report this to the Facility Services Zernike West reception one day ahead. When guests are not reported, they run the risk of arriving at a full parking lot.
Which employees are eligible for a parking permit?
If you meet the conditions below, you may apply for a permit with this form [DOC] (also available in print at the reception):
- Employees who live outside the postal codes listed in this table
- Employees with a physical disability (with a declaration from the University of Groningen Health and Safety Department (AMD).
- Employees who need their car for commuting on a daily basis. You need to file a well-motivated request with the Treasurer of the Faculty by use of the application form mentioned above. In case of a rejection, a complaint may be filed with the Board of the University within six weeks.

Use of parking permit
|

The parking permit is valid for all available closed parking lots assigned to the University of Groningen (P1, P2, P3*, P4 south and P5)
(* P3 is accesible for RUG staff until 10.00am, after that, the left over spaces will be for Hanzehogeschool staff only).

You need a permit from 6am until 6pm. After 6pm and on weekends, parking is free on all terrains.

Assignment of a parking place of your preference is not possible.
|
|
In case the parking lot of your choice is full, you will have to divert to a parking lot on which there are still places available. The parking manager has a complete overview and can inform you through the intercom.

A parking place cannot be guaranteed: full = full. You can still try to find a place on the open parking lots: P4 north and Transferium prof. Uilkensweg.
|
|
Loss of a parking permit involves a € 5,- replacement fee.
