Health and Safety Executive and Environment Coordination Duties
The health and safety executive and environment coordinators of the Zernike West complex and the faculties nearby are burdened with improving the health and safety assurance, as in the regulations stated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The Occupational Health and Safety Act obliges institutions to have a policy that improves the safety, the health and well-being at the work place, with regard to the staff as well as to the students. Generally, the Occupational Health and Safety Act concerns the following points of attention:

Executing Risk Inventories and Evaluations;

Making proposals to solve indicated difficulties;

Coordinating / composing the Health and Safety and Environment annual plan;

Coordinating / composing the Health and Safety annual report;
-
Coordinating / improving the physical and social safety in buildings and plots;
-
Improving the ergonomic accountable working environment;
-
Improving internal communication;
-
Giving, either asked or unasked, (precautionary) instructions in the field of working conditions;
-
Creating necessary facilities for (pregnant) staff;
-
Coordinating clearance exercises;
-
Coordinating / improving the organisation of Business emergency service;
-
Improving Environments to become nice.
