The Road to success: Do it yourself!
- Farid Tabarki, Researcher & Trend watcher at Studio Zeitgeist
Farid Tabarki characterise the present era as: "People trying to change their lives without going through the mediation of politics. It ’s a new economic culture, a culture of Do-It-Yourself, Organize-It-Yourself, this is the new process of change emerging in societies around the world." The challenge of the current and following era is, how will the industry, society, authorities and consumers deal with this ‘radical decentralization’?

- Han Slootweg, Innovation Manager at Enexis and Professor Smart Grids, TU Delft
‘An undeniable fact is that fossil fuel will not be able to cope with the demand of energy. This contrasts with the short term trend of new large power plants in Eemshaven, for example, and on the long term with the development of new and affordable ways to drill fossils (f.e. unconventional gas). These trends will only gain extra time and provide no long term solution’ according to Han Slootweg. The future of our energy supply is sustainable and decentralized; this is Han Slootweg his fundamental positition.
