Mission Statement
The Groningen Energy and Sustainability Programme, GESP, combines all research on energy and sustainability at the University of Groningen. GESP acts as an interface between researchers and partners in business, government and civil society organizations. GESP also represents the University of Groningen and its researchers in key clusters and platforms and provides indispensable expertise to local and international interest groups.
The focus of GESP is the transition from current fossil energy resources to new sustainable energy production.
Research Profile
The research profile of GESP is explicitly multi-disciplinary. GESP combines research in the fields of geo-politics, law, economics, management and organization, physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, information technology, and spatial sciences.
Besides cooperation via international scientific networks, GESP has set up cooperation with various partners in the private sector, both at regional and international level.
GESP is proud to organize the annual Energy Delta Convention in partnership with Energy Valley.
