Keynote Speakers EDC2011Keynote speaker 1:
Paul van Gelder, CEO N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie Paul van Gelder took up the position of the Chairman and CEO of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie on 1 September 2010. Prior to taking on his new role at Gasunie, he was Managing Director TAQA Europa and TAQA Energy, responsible for TAQA’s European operations. His previous positions in TAQA included Project Director Bergermeer Gas Storage developing an underground gas storage facility. Keynote speaker 2:
Anthony Powell, Professor Solid State Chemistry, Heriot-Watt University Anthony Powell is Professor of Solid-State Chemistry and Director of the Centre for Advanced Energy Storage and Recovery (CAESAR) at Heriot-Watt University. He holds the degrees of BA, MA and D.Phil from the University of Oxford. Following post-doctoral work at Oxford, first with Prof. A.K. Cheetham FRS and then Prof. P.D. Battle, he joined Heriot-Watt University in 1992 as a lecturer in inorganic chemistry and was subsequently promoted to Reader and Professor. Keynote speaker 3:
Aad van Bohemen , Head Emergency Policy Division, IEA, Paris Aad van Bohemen joined the International Energy Agency (IEA) in August 2006. He heads the Emergency Policy Division of the IEA, with the responsibility to assure the IEA and its member countries stand ready to react to severe oil and/or gas supply disruptions, and to coordinate IEA collective actions during such disruptions. He also works with developing countries like China, India, Indonesia and Thailand on energy security issues.
