Studying at the University

You're going to university and that means a lot will change. University is very different to 'going to school'. During your program at the university you are the on responsible for the course of your education, even more so than when you were in school. You make your own choices about what you do and don't want to do, marking your own path in your program. There are however people who can help you make those choices. Each course has a study advisor, for example.

The study structure

A university study has two phases. The first phase is a three-year Bachelor's Degree. After the first phase you can pick a more specialised Master's Degree of one, two or three years. Depending on your Bachelor's Degree you can choose from different Master's Degrees, either at the University of Groningen or somewhere else.
