Page content: The Allersmaborg, the picturesque alumni house of the University, is located in the Allersmaweg 64 in the village of Ezinge. In the Allersmaborg, a former castle which dates from the 15th century, you will experience one of the qualities of Groningen: a calm and tranquil environment. Passing the drawbridge you will imagine yourself in another world, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Allersmaborg, which was fully renovated in 2007, offers extensive facilities. It is an ideal location for dinners, lunches, receptions and business meetings and caters for the needs of up to 100 guests. In addition, you can also stay overnight in this historic setting (up to 24 guests). HistorySince 2005, the 'borg' (Dutch word for stone house) has been managed through the Allersmaborg Foundation. The Foundation aims to maintain the Allersmaborg as a cultural monument of historical importance for Groningen and as a prestigious building for the University and its alumni. GardenFollowing the extensive renovation of the Allersmaborg itself, the gardens and canals around the borg have undergone a thorough facelift. The restoration of the landscape has been made possible by a grant from the Groningen provincial council and the European fund Leader.
