Aim/ Mission
|
The Groningen Graduate School of Science (GGSS) is responsible for the organisation and quality control of all education, training and research activities of PhD students and research oriented MSc students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. It is an overarching institution that bundles and coordinates the activities of three educational institutes, various local and national research schools, and the research institutes of the faculty. The graduate school has been established (as of 1 January 2009) to achieve a better integration of MSc and PhD programmes, and to guarantee a uniform level of supervision and quality control that meets the highest international standards.
The mission of the Groningen Graduate School of Science is to organize high-quality education, training and supervision for the graduate and post-graduate students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, thereby helping these students to mature into knowledgeable, self-reliant and responsible researchers who function well in science and society.
