The university has strong connections with the North of the Netherlands, expressed by active involvement in the region. From this central position in Europe, the world is within our reach. An international outlook is essential, therefore the university does more than just welcome a large student population: it maintains long-term parnerships with foreign universities with similar high standards, participates in international networks and incoporates international themes in its programmes. The university offers a variety of programmes with English as the language of instructions, as well as Double Degree and Exchange programmes, which open the door to a valuable international experience. The university is co-operating with universities in several developing countries, thereby contributing to the further development of academic teaching and research world-wide.

The European Commission has awarded eight of our Double Degree Master's programmes the prestigious Erasmus Mundus status.
