Most people live with an ‘illusion of invulnerability’. After diagnosis of a chronic disease like MS, this illusion is broken, and this loss of perspective may be devastating, particularly in early or middle adulthood. In this thesis various factors are identified as important variables in a patient’s psychological well-being.
