NetStorage
Regardless of the operating system of your PC, your browser will give you access to the files in the X: and Y: drives through NetStorage. Without having to install anything, you will have secure access to the data. Click on this link and log in with your P number and password. https://netstorage.id.rug.nl/NetStorage/
Webdav
You can also integrate access to the files on the University of Groningen network with your current desktop environment. WebDAV is especially useful if you frequently want to access files in X: from the same PC. This requires some configuration, as follows:
WebDAV settings for Windows
- Open 'Network Places' on the desktop and choose 'Add a network place'.
- A wizard will open. Click 'Next'.
- Under 'Service Providers' choose 'Choose another network location' and fill in the address: https://netstorage.id.rug.nl/oneNet/NetStorage/
- You will probably receive a security alert message and then you can log in with your P number.
- Finally, you must enter a name for the connection before the wizard will close.
