We study the interaction between plant and environment. The adaptive and stress responses of plants to changes in the environment can be molecular, biochemical, biophysical, physiological and/or developmental modifications. The analysis of plant responses from the molecular level up to the level of the intact plant allows a fully integrated understanding of the plant-environment interaction.

Plant Ecophysiology participates in the Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Studies (CEES), which also harbours the research groups Animal EcologyCommunity and Conservation Ecology, Evolutionary Genetics, Marine Biology, Microbial Ecology, and Theoretical Biology. Together with several other research institutes, CEES participates in the national graduate school Functional Ecology (FE).

Our group participates in the Bachelor's programme Biology, the Master's programme Ecology, the Top Master's programme Evolutionary Biology, and a number of national courses for graduate students.
