Information for foreign librariesUniversity of Groningen Library International Loan Service
The University of Groningen Library participates in national and international interlibrary loan (ILL).
The shared use of individual library collections is a necessary element of international co-operation by libraries. Just as no library can be self-sufficient in meeting all the information needs of its users, so no country can be self-sufficient. The supply of loans and copies between libraries in different countries is a valuable and necessary part of the interlibrary loan process. Therefore we supply copies of our own publications to any other country, by loan, photocopy or other appropriate method. Our services are well received and appreciated worldwide. Document Supply Service InformationA majority of items from our collection of over 3,2 million books are available for loan. You can use our online catalog to browse for required titles or subjects. Audiovisual materials are not available for international loan. The term of loan is set on two months. If the publication has not been reserved, the term of loan can be renewed on request, barring exceptions. Photocopies and scans are granted up to 50 pages per request. If you request articles, we can send them either as a paper version via regular mail or as a PDF via e-mail. Please fill out the request form on our website to submit your loans and article requests (one request per form). Our loan service is offered solely to libraries and not to individuals. PaymentsIn general payment is due upon receipt of the requested materials, but please note that we reserve the right to request payment in advance under certain circumstances. We prefer payment in IFLA ILL Vouchers. If you request books or photocopies and you do not pay in vouchers, administrative costs will be added to your invoice. ChargesPayment by IFLA ILL Vouchers for:
