Open University Library instruction sessions


Every first Thursday and third Wednesday of the month!

Twice a month, the University Library organizes open instruction sessions for students, staff and other interested parties.

These sessions are held in the UB lecture hall. An information specialist will discuss various subjects, including:

  • The RUG library:
    departments, locations, facilities
  • Academic publications and types of material
  • The Catalogue
  • Periodicals:
    printed / online, searching for periodicals and searching in periodicals, Online Contents, Picarta
  • Files:
    types of files, Metalib, SFX
  • The electronic literature guide
  • Google Scholar
  • Search techniques, search tips

Attendees can ask questions and raise discussion topics during the meeting or when they sign up via the registration form .
