General
The Digital Library Facilities Department is responsible for IT innovation within the University Library. The department is involved in many collaborative projects with partners inside and outside the university, developing services for research and training. These services aim to make the enormous bulk of information which the Groningen library possesses as easily accessible as possible by means of IT solutions. In addition, the department is responsible for the maintenance and management of a number of systems.

Google Book Search now directly indicates whether a book that you are looking for is available in the Groningen Catalogue (requires Firefox and GreaseMonkey). Once you have installed the script, your Google Book search via Firefox will directly return Catalogue information.
- New Theses Online website. Theses Online enables you to simultaneously search all electronic archives containing final-year theses of Dutch universities and universities of professional education.
- For PhD students: In the near future you will be able to apply for an ISBN number by means of a form developed by the DB department.
