Page content: General In adition to the library collection of journals, books, bibliographies etc. the Library of Mathematics and Natural Sciences maintains a special collection, viz. the collection of books of the Dutch Ornithological Union (Nederlandse Ornithologische Unie, NOU).
Collection Dutch Ornithological Union The Dutch Ornithological Union (Nederlandse Ornithologische Unie, NOU) possesses an elaborate collection of journals, housed in the SOVON-bibliotheek at Nijmegen. In addtion to this the NOU started a collection of books in 1986. This collection is housed in the Library of Mathematics and Natural Sceinces at Groningen The collection contains, among other things, three bequests (a major part of the libraries of H. Klomp, H.N. Kluyver and R. Drent). The collection is incorporated in the Catalogue of the University of Groningen . Staff and students of the RUG, as well as NOU members, can borrow books from this collection.

Bequest Rudolf Drent A recent bequest by biologist Rudolf Herman Drent has been made to the collection of books of the Dutch Ornithological Union.
