The Interuniversity Centre for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) is a leading research centre and graduate school in the social sciences in the Netherlands. It was officially recognized by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in 1993, 1998 and 2003.
The centre is managed by three universities:

The main aim of the ICS programme is to integrate various subdisciplines in the social sciences by using theoretically worked-out and technically well-specified models.
The ICS research programme for 2003-2008 is ‘Social Networks, Solidarity, and Inequality’.
ICS sets great store by international contacts in the fields of sociology, political science, economics, psychology, history and applied mathematics.
