E-books at Groningen University

E-book is a collective term for electronic publications, readable on computers, smartphones, tablets or e-readers.

Many, mostly older, e-books are freely available on-line. Generally they can be downloaded, copied and exchanged without restrictions. More recent e-books from commercial publishers are available under license. Depending on publishers regulations , downloading etc. can be restricted.

The University of Groningen (as of March 2012), has access to the full text of more than 350.000 electronic books. These e-books are, mainly, in the realm of reference books, mandatory textbooks, scientific text editions and source material, and packages of subject oriented material.
