SOM Research School: Systems, Organisation and Management

SOM is the joint research school of the faculties of Management and Organization, Economics and Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen. It combines and stimulates disciplinary and interdisciplinary research meeting international standards. And it provides the training and research environment for PhD students. In 2000, approximately 80 research fellows and 70 PhD students belonged to SOM. SOM was recognized by the Dutch Academy of Sciences in May 1998.

The mission of SOM is to stimulate fundamental and applied research related to the firm in its economic, spatial and demographic environment and to provide a PhD programme with a high international standard.
