EBF International Business Research (IBR) is a student organization that annually organizes one or two research trips abroad. Under supervision of two teachers from the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen, the participating students carry out contract research for the Dutch business world, with a focus on foreign markets.
The principal aim of these projects is twofold:
- To create the possibility for the Dutch business world to have research into an emerging market conducted at cost price.
- To offer students the opportunity to develop themselves internationally and to gain experience in scientific research.
What can we do for your company?
Depending on your demand, different types of research are possible. For example:
- a sector analysis;
- a consumer analysis;
- a competition analysis;
- a distribution analysis;
- a feasibility study with regard to the entry of foreign markets.
The research is conducted at cost price. IBR carries out tailor-made research and aims at accumulating knowledge and making concrete recommendations. This makes your company more successful when entering the foreign market or when expanding your existing international activities.
The support and supervision of two teachers from the Faculty of Economics and Business and our advisory council guarantee high-quality research.
How we work
The students participating in a project conduct their research in pairs. The students, who are in the last stage of their study, are selected carefully on the basis of their skills, motivation and study results. The two students communicate frequently with the company they conduct research for. Specific needs of your company are thus taken care of and there will be interactive feedback on a regular basis.
The research results will be presented to your company in the form of a presentation and a research report. Obviously, these results are treated confidentially.
Projects in the past
The predecessors of IBR have over 15 years of experience in performing market research in emerging markets and have proved to be capable of conducting a wide range of research assignments. In the last couple of years, we have succesfully completed projects in various countries, including Thailand, the Philippines, Brasil, Argentina, Mexico, India and China.
