The Science Shops carry out independent research into subjects that affect the wider community, or subjects relating to groups or interests that have a relatively weak social position.
- The research is usually carried out by students as the subject of their final-year project. The students are supervised by specialists.
- The eight science shops at the RUG cover a wide range of research themes in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, language and culture, education, medicines, economics and business studies, medical science and public health.
- In principle, the science shops do not conduct research commissioned by a private individual. That does not fit with our social function. The research must be interesting for our students and be able to be completed within a few months or a year.
