GELIFES

  • Behavioural & Physiological Ecology
  • Conservation Ecology Group
  • Evolutionary Genetics, Development & Behaviour
  • Genomics Research in Ecology & Evolution in Nature
  • Neurobiology
  • Theoretical Research in Evolutionary Life Sciences

GBB - Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology Institute

Onderzoeksgroepen van het GBB:

  • Cell Biochemistry
  • Biotransformation and Biocatalysis
  • Molecular Systems Biology
  • Molecular Microbiology
  • Molecular Genetics
  • Molecular Cell Biology
  • Microbial Physiology
  • Bioinformatics
  • Electron Microscopy
  • Membrane Enzymology
  • Molecular Dynamics
  • Protein Crystallography

ESRIG -Energy and Sustainability Research Institute Groningen

Based on the vision that abundant and cheap supply of energy is one of the most positive things that ever happened to humanity, and that the continuation (and extension) of this supply is crucial and at the same time threatened, ESRIG has formulated its mission: "Contribute to the global energy supply in the coming century, for more people, and in a more sustainable way".

Make a contribution of my own

'I decided to specialize in Biomedical Sciences and haven't regretted it. I initially wanted to study Medicine, because I'm interested in how the human body and disease processes work, but after I failed to gain a place in the Medicine programme I decided that Biomedical Sciences was a good alternative.

The great thing about this degree programme is that everything you learn is really important in daily life. I recently watched a talk show where they were talking about how new research into Alzheimer’s provides a new perspective on the treatment of this disease. We had talked about this subject a week earlier during lectures, so I found it really interesting. I’m here to gain knowledge, and I hope that later I will be able make a contribution of my own!'

In addition to my studies, sports are important to me. I am a member of the student field hockey association (GCHC) and I go running three times a week. I've been living in student housing since I started my studies, and I enjoy that independence.'
