How does the Alumni Network work

• On the ‘My profile’ page you can see the most up-to-date version of your details. You can change your private and career details by clicking on ‘Change profile’. You can add a photo, say something about yourself and add a link to your own website. You can determine yourself which information should be visible to other users by clicking in the relevant boxes.
• The ‘My contacts’ page is an overview of your personal network. You can add other users of the Alumni Network by using the search function (see the explanation below).
• The search function (in the menu bar) gives you access to information about other members of the Alumni Network. There are various search fields. You will only see the information to which the person searched for has granted access rights. You can then send a message (an e-mail, with your address invisible as sender) by clicking on the message symbol. You can also add the person to your personal ‘My contacts’ network.
• Under the E-mail heading you will find a link to the login screen for e-mail for life. You will need to log in again because the RUG has given this service top security.

The university respects your privacy. The 'Personal Data Protection Act (Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens)' applies to the Alumni Network. This means that the RUG will treat all personal information provided through this website with the utmost care. Information will only be used for the purposes for which it was provided.
