The University of Groningen is located in various buildings
Centre
The main building of the University in the city centre: Academiegebouw (1909); below: University Library (1987). In the street at the right side of the photo are the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies and Faculty of Philosophy. (Map of the city centre of Groningen)
Centre
To the far left is the University Library, and behind the tower is the Harmoniegebouw (where the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Law are located). From the middle and slanting to the right are the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies (this is the building with the two step gables). And to the right of this building, separated by two smaller buildings, is the Bestuursgebouw (where the Executive Board is located). Next to the Bestuursgebouw on the right are the buildings of the Faculty of Philosophy.
Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Law building and to the right of that is the Academiegebouw. Below the faculty building you can see the University Guesthouse. Above the tower, is the lecture hall for Philosophy.
Faculty of Medical Sciences
Part of the UMCG is the Faculty of Medical Sciences. On the left, below is the new building for the Research Laboratory and teaching facilities (finished in 2008). On the left: Academic Center for Oral Health Groningen and the Department of Pharmacy.
University Medical Centre Groningen
The University Medical Centre Groningen with many dicipline groups. At the right site is the main entrance. The white buildings at the exterior are the pavilions for the patients. In the centre is the landing point for the trauma helicopter.
Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences is located in different buildings in the Hortus area close to the city centre. The Department of Psychology is located in the building with the blue marquis, and left under is the Department of Sociology. To the right of this is the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Sciences. In 2008, in a part of the garden an extension of the building of psychology has been built.
Zernike Park
The Zernike Park is located in the northern part of the city of Groningen. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with the Department of Physics and the Department of Chemistry can be seen here. The faculty board is housed in the Bernoulliborg (only the construction site can be seen on the foto on the top left corner).
Zernike Park
Below to the right, the round building is the Centre for Information Technology. To the left of this is the Faculty of Spatial Sciences and the University Centre for teacher education. Above this is the Faculty of Economics and Business. Above in the middle are the Zernikegebouw and the Department of Astronomy. And above to the far right you can catch a glimpse of the the constuction area of the new faculty premises, the Bernoulliborg (finished in 2008). Also the new building for Life Sciences has been built here in 2009/2010.
Zernike Park
An other view on the Zernike Park: the building in the middle houses the Faculty of Economics and Business. Above this building you can see part of the fields of the Sports Centre. In the building at the far left the Faculty of Spatial Sciences is located.
