Insurance policies

Introduction

Here is an overview of the insurance policies that the Board of the University has taken out. The three most important insurance policies will be discussed in detail, the others will just be mentioned. Attention will also be paid to the regulations that set out in which instances students and staff qualify for damages for damage to personal property.

Most important insurance policies

The most important insurance policies are the third-party insurance, the university property insurance and the accident insurance for the In-house Emergency Service staff (BHV). In addition there is the directors’ and officers’ liability insurance (D&O insurance) and two accident insurance policies without tacit renewal for very specific categories such as medical test subjects.

Policy of the Board of the University

The policy of the Board of the University is only to take out insurance policies that are strictly necessary because the financial risks are too great. The overview does not include insurance policies that have been taken out at faculty level. In general, they will be laboratory insurance policies. As this is just an overview, it goes without saying that no legal rights can be derived from it.
