UG amends BSA regulations

12 September 2016

The University of Groningen has amended the BSA regulations. The requirement that students gain their propaedeutic certificate by the end of their second year has been withdrawn definitively.

The University of Groningen has made this decision based on a letter sent by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science to the Dutch House of Representatives last Friday, 9 September. In July the University had already decided to amend the BSA regulations for the 2015/2016 academic year, pending the Minister’s letter.

The introduction letter for first year students will be changed to match the new situation. Students who received a provisionally positive study advice in the previous academic year may now continue with their degree programmes, even if they have not gained a propaedeutic certificate.

The Board of the University will meet with the University Council later this month to discuss the new BSA policy.
